Some of our Socials...

We have too many different socials to list, and they change every year. Here are some of the best ones; these one you should not miss...

SubCrawl
September

A simple idea using the Glasgow subway. Get on in the West End, visit the closest bar to every subway stop, go all the way round (it's a circle) and end up back in the West End, for Viper. Enjoy the expensive Ashton Lane bars, the classy Buchanan Street pubs, and venture...South of the river (no offence to the South side of Glasgow)

GUT Ceilidh
November

A ceilidh (Scottish dance) held in Glasgow University Union for current members and alumni. Should be a great night for meeting lots of different GUT BNOCs. Lots of music and reels, food and alcohol, as well as prizes and raffles. Each year we choose a different charity to donate the ticket money to, and members of the club have the chance to win a prize in the raffle.

Christmas Dinner
December

Christmas Dinner is an annual event - the last GUT social of the first semester. We have a 3 course meal and elect a new committee member, freshers member, before heading to Viper. Always a fun social, with the smart dress code, and the separate boys and girls pre-drinks beforehand. A great way to relieve exam stress!

Pub Golf
January

Always a favourite! Head out in teams around the West End for nine (watering) holes of Pub Golf, with your golfing socks, jumper, plastic putter and scorecard. Will you make it round in par, or will you even make it to Viper?

GUSA Ball
February

Glasgow University Sports Association's most presitigous night of the year, a black tie dinner and ceilidh held in the Hilton Hotel. A chance to meet people from other sports clubs, get smashed on cheap wine, have some great food, and find out which club has won the coveted "Club of the Year" award!

Cheese & Wine
March

The messiest social of the year, if last year is anything to go by (they're all pretty messy to be honest). It's farily self-explanatory: a shit-ton of wine, a hell of a lot of cheese, and that's pretty much all you need. We'll hire out a room in the GUU and let this civilised evening commence.
