FRESHERS WEEK!
Welcome to all the new faces who have signed up to the tennis club in the past two weeks Fresher’s week was a huge success for GUT! We got an incredible amount of sign ups and we’re really looking forward to the year ahead!

On the Friday we hosted our Taster session at kelvingrove courts. The weather was amazing, hitting 25c! Over 140 of you turned up to see what tennis had to offer and we are sure you weren’t disappointed! If you felt you didn’t get a good understanding of what our sessions can really offer then come along to our Wednesday coaching at either 1-2.30(Beginner/ Intermediate) or 2.30-4(Upper Intermediate/Advanced/Team Player)! We have brilliant and enthusiastic coaches who have turned beginners into 3rd team BUCS players!

After the tennis we headed to Ashton lane for some pints! Some of you lucky people were offered free pints from Innis and Gunn for whatever reason but there’s one reason for you to want to join the tennis club! Innis and Gunn are our sponsored pub this year and have so far been great hosts! How good were those deep fried cauliflower!!
Team Trials
Team Trials this year was very well attended and we hope everyone was happy with how they played! We then hosted a second team trials for all the players who the team captains saw had the correct ability. From this we had great intake of players with around 9 new players being added to the Men’s team and 8 into the women’s team! For the second year ever we also have a development team. Our Development team captain Christina Thomson had a tough task at hand to pick from the large amount of quality players on show! She somehow narrowed it down to 15 boys and 15 girls!

If you feel like you’ve been missed out, then the best plan of action is to attend a Wednesday or Sunday coaching at any point and make yourself known with some excellent play! Just because you’ve missed out now does not rule you out at all!!
